Today had cell culture test.
OMG. I think i might do badly.
Cos i think alot ppl will do well.
SIAN. Actually Cell culture is a very interesting module.

Let me share all the CRAZY things i learn for my course and interesting things about it!
Mostly is said by facilitators!!
(P.S: this is going to be a long post! HANG ON! Take a deep breath)

Let's START!

1. rDNA: my faci said that you can actually peel a banana, but it in a plastic bag, smash it till very very "luan", ok it's already luan, then you add dunno wad solution that you can buy from stall and you can get the DNA of banana! interesting? (no?)

2. rDNA: Smoking is bad for health. In some ways, it will mutate or alter your genetic sequence, thus maybe 1 or 2 nucleotide is being removed. this means that new genes = new proteins formed = might lead to cancer. LOL. Is this true? EH I DON KNOW

3. cell culture: my faci damn funny la. he is very very cautious, cos he show as example of working in the BSC (a kind of cabinet then you put your hands in and do things), whatever things he do, he spray with ethanol. and you know what, his action is really funny, plus he say he become allergic to ethanol liao. cos long term spraying ethanol in his hands or something. SO! don't keep play with ethanol! although it can kill bacteria, virus...

4. Stem cells: You can actually bank in your child's cord blood. Meaning there is a Cord blood bank. Ex la. 1,200 to 1,500, then have to pay around $250 per month storage fees. however, it is a good thing. meaning that if your child got any sickness (not all), in which you need a donor for like kidney transplant, you don't have to find a donor, they will take out your cord blood in the bank and culture your organ out. WTF. haha. then you won't scared that will not find donor le lohs. Might think about this for your child in future.

5. Stem cells: GIRLS ! want to earn big bucks? $$$$$$$$$ simply sell your oocytes(your egg) to some research center or something for US50 000. but ! you have to take injection for 5-6 times a day. it's a kind of hormone that will enhance your egg production. cos like we per month have 1 egg only ma. then before the egg die, they will take it out. Suffer, but got money, and you might save alot people in future. because it will be use for experiment for the next big thing in science 50 yrs later.

6. Stem cells: Some research center do fertilize human egg, and then they observe, investigate it, but there is some ethnics issue, whereby experiment cannot be more than 14 days. WHY??? cos! after 14 days, our central nervous system will start developing, it is when they regard as it is when we have human rights. think about it! will you wan yourself to be born to this world because of scientist experimenting? Might as well dont live right. lol. so cruel but if research is successful, even diabetics patient and many many many sickness can be cured. So is either you wan to save people for future generation or you wan the ethnics stop you!
Seriously, if i'm a researcher, i will fight for the rights, but of cos, i wont go cr8 millions of babies for experiment. wont let him come into this world. :)

Btw, today's lesson is kind of interesting.
it's about parent who have infected by different kind of disease what is the possible outcome of offspring.
Meaning will your child be affected. LOL.
In the end, also calculate chances only.
but it's like you never know de ma.
For example of 99% child will affected, 1% unaffected
Heng heng you that child is the unaffected one leh?
you also dunno de ma.
Haiya.
I think they should think of the abilities of whether if child sick, got money to medical assit them anot.
if not, JUST adopt la.

This friday is anniversary. 3 year.
Omg. Time flies really fast.
Still remember that time during sec2, with Jiemin walking to school,
saw Andrew with this Girl together.
We were talking bad things about Andrew and the girl.
then now lehs. With andrew liao.
OMG. so unpredictable.
But after all. Andrew is a nice guy .
My family like him. so am i .
haha.
